Camping Schoonenberg is situated in a 25 acre parkarea that combines several estates like Beeckestijn, Waterland and ofcourse Schoonenberg.

Park Velserbeek is just a 10 minute walk away. Especialy for kids this is the nicest to visit. A playgroung, pettingfarm and a field with deer. On hot sumemrdays you can cooldown at the paddlingpool.

The first entrance of national parc the Kennemerduinen is less than 1 km away. 

Both the parc and the visitors center of national parc south Kennemerduinen are free to visit. It largely consist of dunes but also estates, forrest and beaches are part of the parc. Here you can spot deer,wild pony's and the europian bison. Smaller game is representedd by rabbits, squirels and foxes.

Ijmuiden beach is a very wide beach were you can easily find a quiet spot. For lunch, dinner or a sunset drink there are several restaurants.

if you're more into culture or shoppen you can visit Haarlem or Amsterdam. Public transport to both cities is within 10 minutes walking.

The Zuidersluis build in 1876, the Middensluis from1896, the Noordersluis dated 1929, the Spuisluizen and the Gemaal. The most recent one (2022) is the Sea lock Ijmuiden: the largest in the world.

The 4km long beach perfect for swimming. The public pool is also an option and located nearby.
